River and Stream Hydrology Studies
Hydrological assessment of river and stream reaches represents a primary activity of Hydro Environmental Ltd. In many of the projects this has involved carrying out river channel surveys, hydrometric monitoring of the water profile and flow rate and the development of numerical based 1-dimensional and 2-dimensional hydraulic models to predict channel velocity and water level throughout the subject reach and assist in the design. The variable nature of studies carried out by hydro Environmental are listed as follows:
- Channel flow capacity and flow velocity Assessments
- Design of weirs (inline and offline weirs), control gates and spillways
- Design and capacity assessment of river bridges and stream culverts
- Design of Fish Passes and fishery friendly channels and culverts
- Design of low flow and flood flow channels
- Design of flow diversions and flood relief schemes
- Marina feasibility and impact studies
- Hydrometric measurement and monitoring of flows
- Dispersion and water quality assessments
- Assimilative capacity Assessments
- Scour and sediment deposition assessments
- Storm Water Management Systems
- Flood Risk Assessment Studies
